Mass Email in People Search
In addition to individual emails sent from your server, Compass includes the ability to send mass emails to individuals from search results.
- To create a mass email from the results of a People Search, select "Email" in the upper right-hand corner.
- The “To” list of recipients will auto-populate to include all records in your result set with a Primary Email address on file. In addition, additional recipients can be added manually using the CC field.
- If you wish to send the email from your mail server (Compass uses OmegaFi's server), the addresses in the “To” field may be copied and pasted. If an attachment needs to be included with the email you must send this from your server.
For added convenience, the email form also allows information to be merged into the email body from a list of available fields including Name Fields, Associated or Initiated Chapter, University, Graduation Year, Initiation Year, or Member Account Number.
You may also select to send the email using one of the existing email templates or send a test email to yourself before it's actually sent out. When a mass email is sent using the Compass function, a contact log documenting the communication is automatically added to all recipient records in the database.
