The Donations Queue is used to process donations submitted on a Compass-integrated external form. The most common external donations form used with the queue would be one of OmegaFi’s Secure Contributions Forms. This online donation form allows Donors to submit a payment for a new or existing donation and automatically have it recorded. After payment submission, it lands in the Donations Queue for the organization to work. Donations submitted on the Secure Contributions Form are not processed until the record is worked. The best practice is to work items in the queue daily.
Steps to Process Secure Contributions
- Make sure a batch has been created. Create one, if needed. (See Payment Batches in Fundraising).
- Navigate to Work Queues (paper w/clock logo) » Donations Queue.
- Click the "Match" button next to the record.
- A new window will open with individuals to match to. If individuals do not auto-populate in the window, you can type in the name of the Donor to search.
- Confirm the contact information displayed matches the individual who made the donation/payment. There is also an option to update contact information if needed.
- The Donation Screen will appear and populate with the donation details. All payment information on-screen pulls from the information entered on the Secure Contributions Form by the Donor.
- Choose the applicable "thank you letter".
- Choose the applicable "appeal".
- Click "Create Donation".
- A box will pop up to confirm if the credit card was "approved" or "declined".
- Approved - Move on.
- Declined - Contact the donor to confirm their payment information is correct.
