Radius Searching
Left-hand Navigation: People » Search » Profile » Contact Info
- A Country is required to be entered before the “Located Within (miles)” field is open for entry
- Enter a central zip code to the area you are looking for and then include how many miles you want the system to search.
- When creating a Radius Search, the system creates a center point by latitude/longitude within the zip code and searches out from there. To err on the side of caution, we encourage increasing your Located Within miles to prevent excluding any potential records in the return set.
- All addresses located within the zip code you enter will return in your search.
- For example, if you search within 5 miles of 31901, yet the distance from the center to the perimeter is greater than 5 miles, all addresses within 31901 WOULD still be included.
- The user also has the ability to filter by "Valid Geocode - Yes/No" from this same screen.
- NOTE - Addresses where "Valid Geocode = No" will NOT return in radius pulls.
Can a Radius Search be done for Canadian Addresses?
The Radius Search leverages the United States Geocoding System provided by the United States Postal Service. Unfortunately, this functionality is only available for U.S. addresses.
