Moving Donations from one Campaign to another
If a Donation was entered in Compass under the wrong campaign, moving it to another has multiple steps.
If a Donation is entered into the wrong Campaign and a payment has already been processed (via OmegaFi Compass Payment Processing), the following steps need to be taken:
- Reverse the payment - Add a quick note
- Delete the gift
- Re-enter the gift to the correct campaign via a transaction type of Cash
- Enter the payment
- Add a Contact Log of the changes made. This will be record-keeping for any future questions regarding the donation or the collection register.

Notes
- If the payment was processed via a credit card, once it's reversed, all transaction information tied to the credit card on the back end will be lost (for example the transaction ID with the credit card processor).
- Reversing the payment removes it from the collection register, so you will need to enter the new payment as if you have extra cash to balance out the register.
- If the payment was recorded( not processed by OmegaFi), you can reverse the payment and re-enter with no effect on the collection register.
- If there is a large number of donations that need to be updated, OmegaFi can do them in mass with a data request. Reach out to your representative for assistance.
