Below are the steps headquarters staff should follow in Compass to record when a member transfers between chapters.
Note: All steps for this process are required when an inter/national headquarters does not permit officers to add initiated members to rosters in Vault. Otherwise, officers add the transferred members in Vault, and they appear in the Party Relationship Transfer Review Queue in Compass.
Step 1: Find the member’s record in Compass under the People module.
Step 2: On the person’s record, go to the Relationships tab > Organization subheader.
Step 3: Select the Edit button on the row with the member’s Member relationship to the chapter from which they transferred.
- Enter a date in the “To” field to end-date the relationship to the “old” chapter and add any applicable notes.
- Select the “Update Relationship” button to save changes.
Step 3: Remain on the Relationships > Organization tab and select the Add button to create a new relationship to the chapter to which the member transferred.
- Complete the fields as follows:
- Organization Type = Chapter
- Relationship = Member status applicable to your organization
- Organization = Member’s new chapter
- Select the “Update Relationship” button to save changes.
Step 4: OmegaFi works a system-generated task to manually add the transferred member to the "new" chapter’s roster in Vault. These tasks are typically worked on a weekly basis.
